At True North we support you to navigate various challenges in your relationship.  We see differences and conflict as opportunities for building strengths and connection.  Rather than being problematic, we offer strategies to improve communication and reduce reactivity between you and your partner, leading to shared understanding, compassion, and closeness.

We are LGBTQIA+ friendly and neurodiversity affirming practitioners, and have considerable experience working with same sex couples.

We are informed by several approaches including Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman, Attachment Theory and Family Systems Theory.  In session, as well as listening to your difficulties we will pay particular attention to the way you interact around these difficulties and what is keeping you stuck in unhelpful patterns of relating.

We have extensive experience and expertise in helping couples with a variety of issues including:

  • Dealing with conflict and communication difficulties

  • Sex and intimacy

  • Parenting

  • Betrayal and affairs

  • Life stressors

  • Life stages (e.g., living together, starting a family, etc)

  • Separation and divorce
